At our starting point at SO328-163 there is ample parking for 8-10 cars, but this summit is very popular with walkers so arrive early.
There is a good path which rises steeply through the woods and most of the 260mtr assent is done in the first kilometer or so. There are a couple of well placed benches along this route should you need a rest.
As you emerge from the woods its not long before you can start to appreciate the incredible views that make this summit one of the most enjoyable we have visited.
The gradient becomes lees steep from here and soon the summit was in sight.
We couldn't have picked a better day for this one, just a light breeze, warm sunshine and excellent visibility.
We found that the summit had a good VHF takeoff and we soon completed our activation with contacts as far away as Brixham, on the south coast and 5 summit to summit.
A great day and a well earned 1 point!
